Laser removes tartar and thin layer of infected skin, teeth cleaning. Medically accurate tooth 3D illustration
Our team employs the Periolase MVP-7 ND:YAG digital laser. This system uses a concentrated beam of light and a gently flow of water to offer a more comfortable and provide treatment than would be possible with sutures and scalpels. When you have a more severe case of the disease, at which point lack of treatment could mean tooth loss, we can employ the laser to gently remove diseased portions of the gums. This reduces the depth of periodontal pockets and allows healthy tissues to adhere to the gums. Our team will also destroy the harmful bacteria trapped between your teeth and along the gum line. Moving forward, we can then manage the disease with a preventive approach using dental cleanings and good homecare hygiene habits.
Periodontal disease begins as a case of inflammation, also known as gingivitis. The initial inflammation could be the result of improper brushing and flossing habits, combined with a diet high in sugar and starch. This creates plaque and tartar buildup that irritates and inflames the gums. Other possible causes include inflammatory illnesses, certain medications, a family history of the disease, and tobacco use. You may not notice your gums appear redder than normal, and they could feel sensitive and bleed easily. As the issue grows more severe, this could mean recession too. Once the disease develops, there is no cure, but our team can successfully manage to protect the stability of your smile!
The system offers a number of benefits. First, the procedure is a comfortable one and rarely requires the use of anesthesia. The treated area heals quickly and requires no sutures. The risk of bleeding, infection, and swelling afterward is significant reduced as the laser cauterizes the area. The dental lasers also mean greater accuracy and precision, and prevent damage to health tissues.
